The concert marks the culmination of the CLE 2026 festival, which focuses on Canarian and Latin American repertoire and views the Canary Islands as a historical bridge between Europe, Africa and the Americas. The festival is dedicated to rarely performed works, promotes new compositions and brings together music rooted in tradition, chamber music, contemporary pieces and orchestral programmes.
The Classical Laguna Experience Orchestra will perform at the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna, conducted by Yudania Gómez Heredia. Alexis Cárdenas, Verónica Cagigao and Ernesto Alemán are announced as soloists. The ensemble is described as a symphonic chamber orchestra comprising strings, piano and percussion.
The programme is dedicated to Cuba and takes the audience on a journey through various forms of expression within its musical heritage and contemporary music, ranging from popular traditions to the symphonic format. The programme also includes a world premiere, a work commissioned by the CLE Festival. The entire concert will be recorded by Radio Clásica, part of the Spanish national radio service RNE.
The concert begins at 19:30 in the Paraninfo de la Universidad de La Laguna. Admission is free until the hall is full.
