The CLEOrquesta brings this year's Classical Laguna Experience festival to a close with a concert entirely dedicated to classical music from the Canary Islands and Latin America. The orchestra will be conducted by the Cuban conductor Yudania Gómez Heredia. The soloists include the Venezuelan violinist Alexis Cárdenas, as well as Verónica Cagigao from the Canary Islands on the marimba and Ernesto Alemán on the piano.
The programme includes works by Carlos Fariñas and Bernardino Valle, amongst others. It also features two world premieres: 'La danza del V lobo' by Jenny Peña, a work commissioned by the festival, and the first performance of the version for string orchestra and percussion of the violin concerto by Ileana Pérez Velázquez. RNE's Radio Clásica will be recording the entire concert. Admission is free; entry is subject to availability of seats.
