In the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio de Tenerife, the Sinfónica de Tenerife will perform a programme comprising two very different works. The concert opens with “The Lost Art of Letter Writing” by Brett Dean, a piece for violin and orchestra inspired by historical correspondence. Isabelle Faust will perform the solo part. This will be the first time the work has been performed with the Sinfónica de Tenerife.
The second half features Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 in F major, Op. 93. Guest conductor Wilson Ng will be on the podium. According to the programme, the evening combines memory, language, gesture and inner freedom.
Before the concert, at 18:30 in the Sala Avenida in the foyer of the Auditorio de Tenerife, there will be an introduction by Cristina Arnay from the Asociación Tinerfeña de Amigos de la Música. Admission to this talk is free, subject to availability.
Access to the concert hall is restricted to visitors aged five and over. Once the hall doors have closed at the start of the event, no further admission will be permitted.
