The highlight of the evening is Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in C minor, Op. 67. The work occupies a central place in the 'Libertad o destino' season. 2027 marks the 200th anniversary of Beethoven's death, and the Sinfónica de Tenerife is marking the occasion by performing one of the most famous scores in musical history.
The concert will open with Johannes Brahms' Double Concerto in A minor, Op. 102, his last major orchestral composition. The solo parts will be performed by two musicians from the Sinfónica de Tenerife: Irina Peña on violin and Ülker Tümer on cello. Ariane Matiakh will conduct, and Nieves Concostrina will present the evening's programme.
Before the concert, at 18:30, the Sinfónica de Tenerife will offer an introduction in the Sala Avenida in the foyer of the Auditorio de Tenerife. José Lorenzo Chinea from the ATADEM association will speak. Admission to this introduction is free, subject to availability.
Please note the following regarding concert attendance: once the hall doors have closed at the start of the performance, no further admission will be permitted. Access to the hall is restricted to children aged six and over.
