At the 23rd Tensamba Festival, jazz singer Carme Canela and Brazilian guitarist Jurandir Dã Silva will perform their programme «Celebrating La Fusa» at the Casino de La Laguna. The duo take the album «Vinicius de Moraes en La Fusa», recorded in Buenos Aires in 1970, as their starting point and offer a fresh interpretation of its songs. The programme includes, amongst other things, bossa nova classics and pieces influenced by Ijexá, samba de roda and jazz.

"Celebrating La Fusa" is a personal take on "Vinicius de Moraes en La Fusa", which was recorded in Buenos Aires in 1970 with Maria Creuza and Toquinho. Carme Canela on vocals and Jurandir Dã Silva on guitar revisit the material without simply replicating the original album. Instead, they create an intimate interpretation that blends well-known tracks with Afro-Brazilian rhythms and jazz.
The repertoire includes songs such as 'Lamento no Morro', 'Samba em Prelúdio', 'Eu sei que vou te amar' and 'Garota de Ipanema'. The programme is open to influences from Ijexá and Samba de Roda. Jurandir Dã Silva hails from Salvador da Bahia and works as a guitarist, composer and musical director. He has enjoyed an international career spanning more than 30 years.
The concert is part of the 23rd Tensamba Festival and begins on Saturday, 31 October 2026, at 20:30 at the Casino de La Laguna. Tickets are available from 12 euros.
