The focus of the evening is “La Calma”, El Kanka's seventh album. The ten new songs explore themes such as true love, the search for peace and the ups and downs of modern life. Highlights include the title track “La Calma”, a plea for serenity; “Limpieza general”, with its domestic tenderness; and “Pensando en ti”, with its romantic, catchy tone.
El Kanka hails from Málaga and lives in Madrid. For more than 15 years, he has been building his career as a singer-songwriter with his own unique blend of humour, poetry and observations of everyday life. His repertoire ranges from rumba-influenced tracks to pop, trova and classic singer-songwriter music. His previously released albums include “Lo mal que estoy y lo poco que me quejo” from 2012, “El día de suerte de Juan Gómez” from 2014, “De pana y rubí” from 2015, “El arte de saltar” from 2018, “Cosas de los vivientes” from 2023 and “Las Canciones” from 2025.
His concerts thrive on direct communication with the audience and on the interplay between playful observations and quieter, more reflective moments. In the Sala Sinfónica, this conversational format takes on the scale of a major concert. Once the performance has begun, no further admission to the hall will be permitted.
