The programme forms part of the 'Libertad o destino' season at the Auditorio de Tenerife and brings together three works which, according to the organisers, give audible expression to different forms of tension, freedom and inner turmoil. The programme features Igor Stravinsky's 'Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments', Frederic Rzewski's 'Coming Together' and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 'Symphony No. 40 in G minor, K.550'.
Jordi Francés will conduct. The soloist will be Curtis Phill Hsu on the piano, winner of the 70th Maria Canals International Music Competition in 2025. Two of the evening's works are appearing on the Sinfónica de Tenerife's programme for the first time: the Stravinsky concerto and Rzewski's 'Coming Together'.
An introductory talk will take place at 18:30 in the Sala Avenida in the foyer of the Auditorio de Tenerife. It will be given by Cristina Arnay from the Asociación Tinerfeña de Amigos de la Música (ATADEM). Admission to this talk is free, subject to availability.
Please note the following regarding concert attendance: once the hall doors have closed at the start of the event, no further admission will be permitted. Access to the hall is restricted to children aged six and over.
