With "Fado Nocturno", José Félix presents a programme that has emerged from his in-depth exploration of Portuguese fado. In it, the singer from Tenerife charts a course through the classical fado tradition and the various traditional styles of this music. The programme is based on his study of traditional styles and his experience performing in Lisbon's fado houses alongside local musicians.
The line-up has been deliberately kept small: José Félix takes the lead vocals, accompanied by Gabriel Hernández on the Spanish guitar. This understated setting places the focus squarely on the voice, the lyrics and the emotional impact of the songs. The concert recounts the stories preserved in Lisbon's song tradition and interprets fado as a quiet, inner expression.
The performance lasts 75 minutes and is suitable for all age groups. Standard admission is 12 euros; concessions are 9 euros for students, people under 25 and over 65, and residents of El Sauzal. Tickets are available in advance from the theatre offices at Calle Constitución 3, Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 to 15:00, as well as at the box office from 90 minutes before the performance begins and online. Proof of eligibility for concessions must be shown at the box office. No admission will be permitted once the performance has begun.
