Antony Hermus conducts the Sinfónica de Tenerife's A4 concert in the Sala Sinfónica at the Auditorio de Tenerife. The programme focuses on two very different sides of Jean Sibelius: the tone poem 'Finlandia', Op. 26, and Symphony No. 3 in C major, Op. 52. The Third Symphony will be performed in its three movements: 'Allegro moderato', 'Andantino con moto; quasi allegretto' and 'Moderato, Allegro; ma non tanto'.
The programme opens with Andy Akiho's Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra, performed by Colin Currie. The movements 'Ceramic', 'Rosewood', 'Hammers' and 'Steel' will be performed. The work is marked with a star and will be performed by the Sinfónica de Tenerife for the first time.
A pre-concert talk will begin at 18:30 in the Sala Avenida, in the foyer of the auditorium. Sergio Rodríguez from the Asociación Tinerfeña de Amigos de la Música (ATADEM) will lead the talk. Admission is free, subject to availability.
Admission to the concert hall is restricted to visitors aged six and over. Once the hall doors have closed at the start of the event, no further admission will be permitted.
