Jazz & Dance III combines music and dance in El Sauzal with Charleston, Lindy Hop and tap dancing. The line-up features body percussionist and tap dancer Jep Meléndez, tap dancers Bára Hrebackova and Joshua 'Josh' Hilberman, and musician and composer Kike Perdomo. The production brings together several dance styles and eras. It features the Charleston, with its distinctive leg and arm movements; the Lindy Hop, with its dynamic energy and the interplay between dance partners; and tap dance, which combines jazz movements with rhythmic tapping of the shoes.
The performers include Jep Meléndez, a body percussionist, tap and sand-dance dancer, choreographer and teacher; Bára Hrebackova and Joshua 'Josh' Hilberman, tap dancers and teachers based in Belgium; and Kike Perdomo, a musician and composer. Meléndez trained in Barcelona and New York. Hrebackova studied in Prague, whilst Hilberman studied under Brenda Bufalino, Joe 'Buck and Wing' Stirling and Paul Draper. Perdomo teaches modern saxophone and big band at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias.
The performance will take place in the Sala Polivalente at the Teatro El Sauzal. It is suitable for all age groups and lasts around 70 minutes. Tickets are available from 8 euros.
