At this edition of Jazz in the Hall, the Tenerife-based band Nicotine Swing will be performing a concert lasting around 70 minutes in the foyer of the Teatro El Sauzal. The programme combines swing and gypsy jazz with influences from bolero, pop and Italian song. Admission costs 8 euros and includes a glass of wine and a tapa. The evening is suitable for all age groups.
Nicotine Swing is a band from Tenerife with more than 15 years' experience on stage. Their sound is rooted in gypsy jazz and the tradition of Django Reinhardt. From this, they have developed their own unique blend, which also weaves together bolero, pop elements, Italian song and other influences. The group has won awards at the Canary Islands Music Awards and has performed at festivals and events in India, South Korea and Colombia, as well as on numerous stages across the islands and on the Spanish mainland.
The programme will also feature material from their third album, 'Decidí'. The eight tracks on the album revolve around heartbreak, resentment and loss. The lyrics alternate between irony, vulnerability and darker tones.
The concert begins at 20:00 in the Hall of the Teatro El Sauzal and lasts approximately 70 minutes. Tickets are available from the theatre offices at Calle Constitución 3 from Tuesday to Friday between 8:00 and 15:00, at the box office from 90 minutes before the start, and online. No admission will be permitted once the performance has begun.
