The Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte is staging 'Libros cruzados', a play by the author from the Canary Islands, Antonio Tabares, directed by Delirium Teatro. The story centres on a copy of 'Anna Karenina' that passes through many hands and throws the lives of three women into turmoil. The evening is aimed at theatre and literature lovers. The performance runs from 20:30 to 22:00.
"Libros cruzados" tells the story of a book that is passed from hand to hand, leaving its mark along the way. This copy of "Anna Karenina" finds its way to three women who, after reading it, begin to see their own lives in a new light.
Mariana works as a museum attendant and realises the emptiness of her monotonous daily routine. Patricia is a novelist and begins to question both her writing and the honesty of her relationship. Cris finds comfort in Tolstoy's words to help her cope with her pain.
Author Antonio Tabares describes the play as a work born out of a love of books and the question of just how profoundly literature can shape our lives. The starting point is bookcrossing, the practice of leaving a book in a public place so that others may find it, read it and pass it on again. The production by Delirium Teatro can be seen on Friday 23 October 2026 at the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte.
