Link Floyd grew out of an idea by Kenneth Suárez and Sergio Casquero as a tribute to Pink Floyd, a band which, by their own account, was always a constant presence in their family's record collection. The project is conceived as a musical journey through the original albums of the Cambridge-based group, spanning everything from well-known tracks to complete album performances.
The premiere took place in February 2013 at the Sala CICCA. Later that same year, the group performed the album “Dark Side of the Moon” in its entirety at the Teatro Guiniguada to mark its 40th anniversary. In the years that followed, further evenings featuring complete albums were added, including “Animals”, “Wish You Were Here”, “Meddle” and, in 2017, “The Wall”.
Link Floyd has previously performed in theatres, clubs and at festivals across the Canary Islands. According to the project organisers, the theatre is the ideal venue for this production, not least because of its acoustics and the lighting and projection effects. The performance at the Teatro El Sauzal lasts around 100 minutes. Admission costs 20 euros.
