The folklore evening 'Mi vida toda' uses folk music and dance to tell the story of a Canarian's life in the late 19th century. A male character guides the audience through childhood, youth, love, work and old age in sung verses. The show features three dance groups, including children, as well as an ensemble performing Latin American pieces. The performance, which lasts around one hour, is suitable for all age groups.
'Mi vida toda' means 'My whole life' and is conceived as a staged folklore evening. At its heart is a male character who recounts his life through sung verses. The plot follows the stages of life from childhood through youth, love and work to old age, thus evoking key moments in the life of a Canarian in the late 19th century.
The music is inspired by the folk music of the respective stages of life. The verses feature, amongst other things, a lullaby from childhood, a 'saltona' from youth and melancholic 'folías'. The result is a sequence of songs and dances that, like an old photograph, evokes various stages of life.
Three dance groups from the A.F.C. Guarache will be performing on stage. A children's group will perform the dances representing childhood, an adult group will take on the remaining stages of life, and there will also be a group performing Latin American pieces. The performance runs from 20:30 to 21:30 and takes place at the Auditorio Capitol in Tacoronte.
