Music group competition at the Santa Cruz Carnival
At the Concurso de Agrupaciones Musicales, the musical groups of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival take to the stage with live singing, arrangements and a repertoire prepared especially for the annual festival. The competition marks the start of the competitive phase of the 2027 Carnival and thus forms part of the run-up to the street carnival. It takes place at the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife, the covered venue for the carnival competitions.

The competition forms part of the official programme for the 2027 Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival, which has the theme 'Roma Eterna: El Imperio del Carnaval'. The 2027 edition thus takes up a Roman theme, 40 years on from the corresponding edition in 1987.
On stage, the Agrupaciones Musicales present their entries with live vocals, musical arrangements and a repertoire prepared especially for the festival. The Concurso de Agrupaciones Musicales marks the start of the competition programme and thus takes place several weeks before the carnival's street programme.
The venue is the Recinto Ferial de Tenerife in Santa Cruz. Unlike the open-air venues of the subsequent street carnival, this is a covered venue for the carnival competitions. The scheduled event times are from 20:00 to 23:59.
