Octava del Cristo del Calvario: Procession of the Annunciation in Icod

The Octava del Cristo del Calvario marks the conclusion of the Fiestas of the Santísimo Cristo del Calvario in Icod de los Vinos, which were celebrated back in September. On the first day of the event, the programme begins with a Mass at 19:00. Immediately afterwards, at 19:30, the announcement procession sets off through the El Calvario neighbourhood.

Throughout the Octava, El Calvario will continue to be filled with festival events right up until 5 October. The programme includes a ceremonial address, parrandas, rancheras, a ball, a cross-country run, a procession and the handover of the flag. With this handover, the flag is passed on to the 2027 festival committee. According to the programme, Los Piquetes and El Lomo will also be joining in the celebrations.
