At the Espacio Cultural Cine Viejo in Candelaria, sopranos Zayra Ruiz and Arantxa Cooper will take centre stage, accompanied on the piano by Carlo Manganaro. The recital forms part of Ópera de Tenerife's 'Ópera de cerca' series and will be staged in two towns on the island: Candelaria and Icod de los Vinos.
The programme features well-known arias and excerpts from the operatic repertoire. The programme includes, amongst others, 'Una donna a quindici anni' from “Così fan tutte”, 'Signore ascolta' from “Turandot”, 'O mio babbino caro' from “Gianni Schicchi” and 'Ah, fors'è lui' from “La Traviata”. It also features pieces from the Spanish repertoire such as the 'Preludio' from “La verbena de la Paloma”, 'La niña de los ojos azules' from “Bohemios” and 'Entrada de Cecilia' from “Cecilia Valdés”.
There will be a special focus on Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”. The programme will feature the overture as well as several numbers from the opera, including “E Susanna non vien!… Dove sono i bei momenti”, “Sull'aria… Che soave zeffiretto”, “Deh vieni, non tardar” and “Via, resti servita”. The evening is scheduled to last approximately 50 minutes.
