With “Un verano naranja”, Tuga kicks off the Friday programme at the Plaza del Príncipe in Santa Cruz de Tenerife as part of the Festival Internacional Clownbaret 2026. The character sets out to have the best day at the beach of her life, relying on sand, sea, seagulls and plenty of sun cream. It won't stay dry, though, as Tuga also splashes others.
The show lasts 50 minutes and is suitable for visitors aged five and over. It will be performed outdoors on the Plaza del Príncipe de Asturias.
Behind the character of Tuga is the Chilean mime artist and clown Rodolfo Meneses, who has made the street his main workplace since 2000. He trained in Buenos Aires under Roberto Escobar and Igon Lerchundi. The character Tuga was created in 2005 in Valparaíso. From 2009 to 2012, Meneses also directed the Festival Internacional Invasión Callejera.
