Payasos en Ruta is part of the 20th edition of the Festival Internacional Clownbaret and will be bringing international, family-friendly performances to several locations across Tenerife in October. In Santiago del Teide, the series will once again be stopping off at Plaza Norberto García, also known as La Vigilia.
Two performances are scheduled for this date. At 18:30, La Churry will present 'Wooooow!'. The production combines humour with an open, direct stage character designed to change the way we view everyday life and encourage us to experience the moment more consciously.
From 19:30, José Luis Redondo will follow with "Ricky, el profesor de tenis". The story centres on a former tennis star from the 1980s who, now working as a street coach, hopes to recapture his former glory. The performance blends clowning with juggling, balancing acts, acrobatics and improvisation, and explores themes of ego, failure and second chances.
In October, 'Payasos en Ruta' will also visit Guía de Isora, Tacoronte, Tegueste, Los Realejos and Icod de los Vinos. The line-up includes, amongst others, Compagnie La Liberté, Paul Morocco, Peter Shub and José Luis Redondo. In Santiago del Teide, the performances are specifically open to family audiences.
