Pilgrimage during the patron saint’s festivals in Adeje
This pilgrimage is one of the highlights of the patron saint's festivities in Adeje, held in honour of Our Lady of the Incarnation, Saint Ursula and Saint Sebastian. A 'romería' is a traditional Canarian pilgrimage featuring traditional dress, music, floats and offerings. After Mass, a procession winds its way through the town, accompanied by choirs and folk groups from various parts of the Canary Islands.
The festivities begin at 11:00 with the traditional pilgrimage mass at the parish church of Santa Úrsula. This marks the start of one of the highlights of the local patron saint's festivities in Adeje.
From 13:00, the procession sets off from the Plaza del Cerco. The participants wear traditional dress and make their way through the streets of Adeje. The procession is accompanied by choirs and folk groups from various parts of the Canary Islands.
As the procession continues, the floats will present regional produce, flowers and food as offerings. The focus is on the people, the music and Canary Islands culture.
