Romera dinner and Baile de Magos in Barranco Hondo
This Fiesta evening in Barranco Hondo brings together al fresco dining, folklore and dance music. A Baile de Magos is a traditional festival from the Canary Islands featuring traditional dress, music and socialising. The Chájogo folklore group will be performing, followed by Xany Recco and Grupo Macacos Sound Machine. Wearing traditional dress is common, but not a requirement for attending.
The Romera dinner and the Baile de Magos are among the most popular evenings of the Fiestas in Barranco Hondo. From 20:30, people gather outdoors to eat, celebrate and dance together. Many locals turn up in Canarian traditional dress, but you are welcome to attend even without it.
The folklore part of the evening features a performance by the Chájogo folklore group. According to the programme, another guest group will also be performing. Afterwards, the evening shifts from folklore to dance music with Xany Recco and Grupo Macacos Sound Machine.
The event forms part of the celebrations in honour of the Virgen de Dolores in Barranco Hondo and combines the traditional festive meal typical of a romería with a 'Baile de Magos', a convivial evening of music and dance.
