"La memoria compartida" is an event to mark Library Day at the Espacio La Granja in Santa Cruz, Tenerife. The audience listens to the conversations between the pairs formed for the occasion and is then presented with three unpublished texts created especially for this event. The focus is on how memories, experiences and stories are passed down between generations and transformed into literature.
The project was initiated by the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Public Library. It aims to forge links between young voices in Canary Islands literature and older people from their local community. The backdrop to this is the generational gap, which has led to differing social, cultural and personal perspectives.
In 2026, Kenia Martín Padilla, Laura Cabrera de la Rosa and Kalius will be taking part. The fourth edition will also feature the poet and storyteller from the Canary Islands, Isabel Expósito. The actress Lidia Franco will host the evening. The event is recommended for visitors aged twelve and over. Admission is free, subject to available seating.
