The production is not intended as a mere folklore show, but as a theatrical reinterpretation of the Canary Islands' cultural heritage. Tradition and contemporary art come together in a performance that engages the body and the ear. Drawing on the deep rhythms of the islands, Cía. Pieles develops its own theatrical language that bridges the past and the present.
The event's description draws on gestures, sounds and memories associated with life on the Canary Islands. This gives rise to a theatrical narrative about memory, identity and the Canarian cultural heritage. The performance is divided into three acts: 'El Hogar', 'La Tierra' and 'La Mar'. Everyday elements and traditions relating to home, land and sea are brought to life on stage.
The venue is the Auditorio Infanta Leonor in Los Cristianos, Arona. Tickets are available via the event website.
