Concert A7 by the Sinfónica de Tenerife is entitled "Symphony with Organ" and, according to the programme, celebrates colour, expression and instrumental imagination. The concert opens with Gabriel Fauré's "Pavane, Op. 50", described as a work of serene elegance and delicate melodic structure.
The focus of the first half is on the violinist Svetlin Rousev, who will perform two works for violin and orchestra: Ernest Chausson's 'Poème, Op. 25' and Maurice Ravel's 'Tzigane', a concert rhapsody with a musical language inspired by Gypsy music. Chausson's 'Poème' will be performed by the Sinfónica de Tenerife for the first time.
After the interval, Camille Saint-Saëns' Symphony No. 3 in C minor 'with organ', Op. 78, will be performed. The work brings together Juan de la Rubia on the organ and the orchestra. The symphony comprises the movements 'Adagio, Allegro moderato, Poco adagio' and 'Allegro moderato, Presto, Maestoso, Allegro', and forms the grand finale of the evening.
Karl-Heinz Steffens will conduct. At 18:30, Lourdes Bonnet from the Asociación Tinerfeña de Amigos de la Música will give an introduction in the Avenida Hall in the foyer of the Auditorio de Tenerife. Admission to this introduction is free, subject to availability. Once the hall doors have closed, no further admission will be permitted. Admission to the concert is restricted to visitors aged five and over.
