Compañía Pieles's work is inspired by the music and traditions of the Canary Islands. Through movement, rhythm and materials, Tarasca draws on images and memories associated with everyday life on the islands. The result is a stage production exploring memory, identity and the cultural heritage of the Canary Islands.
The piece is divided into three acts: 'El Hogar' (The Home), 'La Tierra' (The Land) and 'La Mar' (The Sea). Everyday elements and time-honoured practices relating to work, the land and the sea are translated into theatrical forms. According to the source, Tarasca is one of the most highly acclaimed productions featuring traditional Canary Islands music.
The performances will take place on 7, 14, 21 and 28 October 2026, each at 20:30 at the Auditorio Infanta Leonor in Los Cristianos. Tickets start at 35 euros. The venue is the Auditorio Infanta Leonor at Avenida Juan Carlos I, 20B in Arona.
