The El Rosario local council is organising the series in collaboration with the IASS and Proyecto Hombre Canarias as a prevention programme for families with teenage children. The aim is to provide support for better communication within the family, to strengthen bonds and to promote positive family life.
The programme comprises four sessions at two venues. It kicks off on 1 October at 18:00 at the Casa de la Juventud de El Chorrillo with the workshop 'Mi hijo/a adolescente y yo' on the role of the family during adolescence. The programme continues on 15 October at 17:30 at the Casa de la Cultura with 'Comunicar más allá de las palabras', focusing on the importance of communication for children's personal and social development.
This is followed on 19 November at 18:00 at the Casa de la Juventud by 'Gestión emocional en la adolescencia'. This session will focus on tools designed to foster a sense of responsibility and decision-making skills in young people. The series concludes on 16 December at 17:30 at the Casa de la Cultura with "¿Sabemos hablar de adicciones en casa?", a workshop on addiction and on having open, safe conversations about drug use within the family.
Registration is required for all activities, as places are limited. Bookings can be made by telephone on 922 01 01 60, via extensions 1105, 3004 and 1024.
