Vocal Sampling is staging an a cappella concert at the Teatro Cine Realejos, in which six musicians use only their voices to recreate the sound of a full band. The programme combines Cuban son, salsa, rumba, bolero and jazz. The concert is suitable for all ages. It starts at 20:30 and admission costs 15 euros.
Vocal Sampling was founded in Havana in 1989 and consists of six musicians who perform without conventional instruments. On stage, they use their voices to create percussion, bass, brass and various rhythmic patterns, just as one would otherwise expect from a full band.
Their repertoire blends several styles of Cuban and Latin American music with elements of jazz, including Son Cubano, salsa, rumba and bolero. The evening is described as a rhythmic stage show full of humour, energy and great vocal precision.
The group has performed on major stages and at festivals around the world and, after many years without a performance in the Canary Islands, is now returning to the islands for a special concert. The concert will take place on Friday, 2 October 2026, at 20:30 at the Teatro Cine Realejos in Los Realejos. Admission costs 15 euros.
