Vocal Sampling is one of Cuba's most influential vocal groups and has, for three decades, been synonymous with a style in which the voice also replaces the bass, congas or brass instruments. This is precisely what makes this evening at the Teatro Leal so captivating: after the first few minutes, the technical aspects fade into the background and the listening experience itself takes centre stage.
The group is returning to the Canary Islands after a long absence. In 2026, they performed once again at the International Jazz Plaza Festival in Cuba, combining their performances there with educational sessions exploring the possibilities of the voice as an instrument. In La Laguna, audiences can now experience the live performance for which the group is renowned.
