Workshop and closing event for the Juego del Palo in La Laguna
At the Exconvento de Santo Domingo in La Laguna, there will be a one-day conference to discuss the preservation and promotion of the Juego del Palo, followed by the closing ceremony of the 2nd International 'Ciudad de La Laguna' Meeting. The programme is aimed primarily at people who practise, teach or document this tradition. The Juego del Palo is a traditional Canary Islands staff-fighting art. Attendance is free of charge.

The symposium is the most specialised part of the cultural programme for the 2nd International 'Ciudad de La Laguna' Meeting. From 9:00 to 13:15, people involved in the Juego del Palo will gather in the Sala Cristal of the former Santo Domingo monastery. The focus will be on sharing experiences and discussing ways to protect and promote this Canary Islands tradition.
The workshop brings together practitioners, teachers and researchers in one place. The aim is to share experiences and discuss specific ways of preserving the tradition. At 13:30, the closing ceremony of the 2nd International Meeting will take place. The venue is the Exconvento de Santo Domingo on Calle Santo Domingo in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. Attendance is free of charge.
