Teatro Tamaska's production interprets Lorca's play as a contemporary reading that respects the original text whilst combining it with a versatile, accessible and innovative theatrical language. The starting point is the company's previous collaboration with the theatre in Kempten on “Bodas de sangre”. The production explores themes that continue to resonate today: the desire for motherhood, social pressure, gender roles, personal freedom and the struggle between tradition and one's own identity.
The cast includes Carmen Hernández, Josefa Suárez, Francisco Vera, Sheila Rguez López, Fernando Delgado and Karen Perea Ferrer. The production is directed by Francisco Vera. The project aims not only to stage a premiere but also to create space for dialogue with the audience. This includes a social and educational focus, with accompanying activities such as discussion groups, workshops and meetings in educational institutions, with a particular focus on young people and marginalised groups.
The performance begins on Friday, 2 October 2026, at 20:00 at the Teatro El Sauzal. The standard ticket price is 12 euros; the reduced rate is nine euros for students, people under 25 and over 65, and residents of El Sauzal. Advance tickets are available from the theatre offices at Calle Constitución 3, in the annexe to the town hall, from Tuesday to Friday, 8:00 to 15:00. The box office opens 90 minutes before the performance begins. Proof of eligibility is required at the box office to claim reduced rates.
