The Canary Islands now have another restaurant with two Repsol suns. What the Michelin Guide is to much of the world, the Repsol Guide with its suns is to Spain. And the Canary Islands have done very well in the 2026 ratings.
However, the new awards all went to the larger Canary Islands. Tenerife bagged five suns, Gran Canaria and Lanzarote each one.
The awards ceremony on Monday evening in Tarragona, in western Spain, was eagerly anticipated. In the Canary Islands in particular, people were keen to see which restaurants would come out on top. And here are the new winners.
New awards for seven Canary Islands restaurants
The restaurant „San Hô“ is located at the Royal Hideaway Corales Hotel in Costa Adeje. It is famous for its fusion cuisine. Head chef Adrián Bosch takes diners on a journey through international cuisine – using products from the Canary Islands as his foundation.
Bosch has held a Michelin star since 2024 and, as of Monday evening, two Repsol suns. Together with restaurant manager Daniel Rozada, Bosch relies on local producers, who are featured on a map in the restaurant.
Batata del Jable, Cabra Majorera or local fish from La Restinga: the ingredients rarely travel far before they end up on diners‘ plates. Bosch and his kitchen team turn them into a culinary journey around the world. The fusion cuisine tends to focus mainly on Japan and Peru, whilst the wine pairings usually centre on the finest wines from the Canary Islands.
The Canary Islands now have 46 restaurants with Repsol awards
Six further restaurants in the Canary Islands also received awards: one Repsol Sun each went to „Revés Bistro“ near Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and the „Lilium“ restaurant in Arrecife on Lanzarote.
In Tenerife, „Cráter Identidad Canaria“, the restaurant „Troqué“ and the restaurant „Haydée by Víctor Suárez“ took the honours. All three are located in Costa Adeje. The „Moral“ restaurant, run by Icíar Pérez and Juan Carlos Pérez in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, also received an award.
This brings the total number of award-winning restaurants in the Canary Islands to 46. Of these, 39 have one sun, six have two suns and one has retained its three Repsol suns.
