Sergio Ramos, a former senator for Gran Canaria, will head the Partido Popular’s electoral list for the Congress of Deputies in the province of Las Palmas ahead of the general election on 29 November.
This was announced on Wednesday via its official social media accounts by the PP in Gran Canaria, which described Ramos as a politician who is «hard-working, committed to his homeland and steadfast in his defence of the Canary Islands», and predicted that he would be a «clear and forceful voice against socialism and its policies».
Sergio Ramos served as a senator for the island of Gran Canaria during the current parliamentary term, until November 2024, when he decided to step down from active political life due to health problems; however, he is now returning to head the People’s Party’s electoral list for the Congress of Deputies.
