Holidays in Tenerife

Six hotels on Tenerife, from Puerto de la Cruz to Costa Adeje

Our picks cover the quieter north, the resort belt in the south and the west coast at Puerto Santiago, with notes on room numbers, sports facilities and what sits nearby.

The hotels on Tenerife are as diverse as the island itself. The island’s up-and-coming holiday destination is in the south. The north, on the other hand – where tourism in the Canary Islands first began – is undergoing a transformation. The aim is to return to luxury tourism. And the first signs of this change are already visible. We have put together a selection of hotel recommendations in different regions and to suit various needs. You can find our regularly updated special offers via the link at the end of the text.

Booking a hotel in Tenerife

To find the right hotel on Tenerife, you first need to decide whether you’re looking for a beach holiday, a family holiday or an active holiday. In the south, the sea is often shallower and the hotels sometimes offer more entertainment for children. Active holidays, on the other hand, are generally better in the north. It’s also quieter there.

Once that’s sorted, you can choose a hotel. We recommend our partner. There, you can search as you wish and find suggestions at affordable prices:

The best-known and most popular holiday resorts in the south of Tenerife are just a few minutes‘ drive from the South Airport. In recent years, some truly luxurious resorts have sprung up around Adeje. German, British and Russian holidaymakers in particular are drawn to the coastline between Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje.

However, the north is also very popular with tourists. Thanks to its consistently mild climate all year round, this part of Tenerife often attracts long-stay holidaymakers and nature lovers.

Puerto de la Cruz, a vibrant city, attracts the most holidaymakers. Located around 15 minutes from the northern airport, it’s also a great place to relax. And for nature lovers, Puerto – as the town is known for short – offers the perfect starting point for hikes or day trips to Mount Teide National Park.
