Start of the El Castillo festival in Caleta de Fuste
To kick off the El Castillo festival, batucada rhythms will ring out through Caleta de Fuste, followed by a speech, a welcome drink and a performance by El Callao. The programme takes place entirely in the Plaza de El Castillo. With the parade and the performances in the square, the evening is also suitable for families.

The first evening of the Peña del Mar Festival begins at 19:00 with a parade by the Batucada Calemba through the streets of Caleta de Fuste. From 20:00, the programme features the opening address, which will focus on three well-known local residents: Manolín Padrón, Angelito Robayna and Ramón Santana.
The three will not be introduced in a traditional speech, but will instead be interviewed by the young reporters from CEIP El Castillo school. This will be followed at 20:30 by the opening reception, organised by the festival committee and Restaurante Frasquita.
To round off the evening, El Callao will perform at 21:30. All events will take place in the Plaza de El Castillo in Caleta de Fuste. The organisers would like to point out that the programme may be altered or cancelled due to circumstances beyond their control.
