The competition forms part of the festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar in Valle de los Nueve Alto, Telde. The festivities run from 3 to 25 October and are organised by the Patronato de Fiestas Los Naranjos-Valle de los Nueve. The celebrations are supported by Telde Town Council, the Island Council of Gran Canaria and the Government of the Canary Islands.
The 'Caca de la Vaca' event begins on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at 12 noon. A drag queen gala is scheduled for the evening of the same day, starting at 21:00. The programme does not specify an exact venue within the Valle de los Nueve Alto neighbourhood.
The organiser describes the Pilar Fiestas as family-friendly celebrations "by everyone and for everyone". At the same time, the programme notes that individual events may be changed or cancelled for reasons beyond the organiser's control.
