Local livestock show and ploughing demonstration on Pilar Day
The local livestock show in Valle de los Nueve forms part of the Pilar Day celebrations in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar. The programme includes the opening of the livestock show, a Holy Mass, a plough-lifting demonstration featuring Juanfra, as well as the livestock show parade and the procession. The event is aimed at families and visitors who wish to experience village festival traditions on Gran Canaria.
The festivities on 12 October begin at 9:00 with the opening of the local livestock show in Valle de los Nueve Alto, Telde. It forms part of the festivities in honour of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, which take place from 3 to 25 October.
Holy Mass follows at 12 noon. From 13:00, there are several events on the programme: a plough-lifting demonstration with Juanfra, son of Pepe el del arado, followed by the livestock show parade and the procession.
The festivities are organised by the Patronato de Fiestas Los Naranjos-Valle de los Nueve. The programme does not specify a precise venue within Valle de los Nueve Alto.
