On Saturday, 10 October 2026, the main day of the Fiestas de La Naval in La Isleta will feature a number of events. From 18:00, the Naval Battle will be commemorated in the gardens of the Castillo de La Luz. During the ceremony, Santiago Calleja Blancas, Colonel and Commander of the 94th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment, will be appointed Alcaide of the castle.
At 18:30, the regiment will carry the symbolic flame from the old parish boundary at the Viejo Campo España to the mother parish. This will be followed at 20:00 by the procession of Nuestra Señora de La Luz.
The night's highlight begins at 23:00 on Calle Agustín Millares Sall with the Batalla Naval. A pyrotechnic re-enactment of the battle between the ship and the castle, organised by Pirotecnia El Pilar de Benjamín Dávila, will be staged. From 23:30, a concert and a verbena to mark the Feast of the Virgin will take place in the Plaza de Nuestra Señora de La Luz.
The Batalla Naval forms part of the Antiguas y Tradicionales Fiestas de La Naval in honour of Nuestra Señora La Virgen de La Luz. The festival programme runs from 2 to 18 October 2026.
