The event will take place at the Espacio Cultural CajaCanarias La Palma in Santa Cruz de La Palma. On Friday 16 October, the programme begins at 18:00 with a discussion with the filmmaker Júlia de Paz. This will be followed at 19:30 by a screening of "La buena hija", followed by a discussion.
On Saturday 17 October, a masterclass with actors and actresses will take place from 16:00 to 20:00. The focus will be on acting, directing performers and cinematic storytelling. The activities are free of charge, but places are limited.
Júlia de Paz is from Barcelona and studied film directing at the University of Film and Audiovisual Arts of Catalonia. Her short film "Ama" served as the starting point for her first feature film of the same name, which was nominated for a Goya Award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 2022. In 2023, her short film "Harta" won the Gaudí Award. 'La buena hija', her second feature film, was co-directed with Nuria Dunjó and explores the consequences of gender-based violence for the children of affected women.
