Trukitrek was founded in Menorca in 1998 and combines physical theatre with puppetry, as well as live performance with animated film, in its work. The company's repertoire includes a variety of puppetry techniques, ranging from marionettes to direct manipulation. Another characteristic feature is the 'humanette' style, in which the characters are half-puppet, half-human.
In 'Clic', the company presents a retrofuturistic dystopia. At its heart is Mephisto Faust, who seeks to steal a soul in a society controlled by a single corporation. In this world, people's bodies have been 'enhanced' with mechanical organs. The play is conceived as a transhumanist fable exploring how algorithms influence behaviour, needs and ways of thinking.
The cast features Lu Pulici and Josep Piris, who also directs. The performance lasts 45 minutes and is suitable for audiences aged 14 and over. It will take place at the Sociedad de Máguez on Calle Santa Bárbara in Máguez, a district of Haría on Lanzarote. Free tickets are available via Ecoentradas.
