Baruti Teatro was founded in 1987 by Francisco Brito and is based in the Canary Islands. The company has appeared at numerous international puppet theatre festivals and, according to its programme, brings plays full of humour, music and imagination to the stage.
In 'Misterio de Oriente', Turlum Suklum dreams of becoming a magician like his grandfather Kandar. However, his pranks prevent him from concentrating. On his journey through the desert, 'El libro mágico' is his only companion, until a strong wind carries him to Amo Ta, an old, wise and thirsty tree. The play is described as visually rich, making use of special effects, and aims to provoke thought and encourage the audience to follow their own dreams.
The cast includes Francisco Brito, Filio Agrimanaki and Victor Devora. The performance will take place at the Sociedad de Máguez on Calle Santa Bárbara in Máguez. The show begins on Thursday, 15 October 2026, at 18:00. Tickets are available free of charge via Ecoentradas.
