Anniversary concert by the Coral Universitaria de La Laguna
The Coral Universitaria de La Laguna is celebrating its 55th anniversary with a choral concert full of stylistic contrasts. The programme ranges from sacred works to vocal arrangements of pop and Latin American music. Admission is free, and entry is permitted until the hall reaches full capacity. To mark its 55th anniversary, the Coral Universitaria de La Laguna will showcase its stylistic range and musical development since its foundation in this concert. The programme combines sacred choral music with arrangements of pop and Latin American music.
The programme includes 'Laudate' in an arrangement by Knut Nysted, 'Beata es virgo María' by Josu Elberdin, 'Padre nuestro' by Samuel H. Duménigo, 'Alleluia' by Adam Paltrowitz and 'An Irish Blessing' by James E. Moore. Also featured are 'Till There Was You' arranged by Kirby Shaw, 'Arrorró' by Beatriz Corona, 'Las cuatro palomas' by Electo Silva, 'Todo a tus pies' by René Baños, 'Los mareados' and 'Cantares' arranged by Liliana Cangiano, 'Tú no sabe inglé' by Emilio Grenet, and 'Guantanamera', also arranged by Electo Silva.
The concert begins at 20:00 in the Aula Magna of the Aulario General César Manrique on the Guajara Campus in San Cristóbal de La Laguna and ends at 21:30. Admission is free, subject to available seating capacity.
