The opera takes us into a royal court where corruption is plain to see, yet concealed behind protocol and good manners. Hamlet is torn between his duty to seek revenge and his horror at the thought of carrying it out. Ophelia fails to be truly heard. The production depicts a world of half-truths, lies and inner monologues, in which everyone knows something whilst at the same time concealing something.
The performance is in French with surtitles in Spanish and English. There will be four performances at the Auditorio de Tenerife: on 7 March 2027 at 18:00, and on 9, 11 and 13 March 2027, all at 19:00.
