MASDANZA's Tenerife programme brings together four final entries from the choreography competition at the Canary Islands International Festival of Contemporary Dance. Companies from Dresden, Kassel, Rotterdam and Lucerne will be performing at Espacio La Granja.
The programme features "Soft Animals" by Jack Bannerman from Dresden. "Even Absence Casts No Shadow" by Selene Martello and Dario Wilmington from Kassel draws on the work of Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin. "MUGA" by Francesco Paolino from Rotterdam takes its name from a concept in Japanese philosophy denoting a state of selflessness.
The programme is rounded off by "Ferne Nähe" by Zhiyelun Qi from Lucerne, a piece about transcultural influences that shape identity. MASDANZA views contemporary dance as a tool for participation, inclusion and diversity. The performance lasts 60 minutes; admission costs 10 euros.
