The second edition of Santiago de Letras is themed 'Letras al cielo' and will transform the Plaza de la Iglesia into a hub for all things books over two days. The book fair is open on Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00, and on Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00. Some workshops have limited places and require prior registration.
On Saturday, the programme begins at 10:30 with a parade by the Fanfarria de Mount Teide, followed by the opening ceremony at 10:45. At 11:00, the programme features a family session with Diego Reinfeld on “El monstruo cobarde”, as well as a literary breakfast with Helen Rytkönen, Laura Delgado, Sara Maher and Ceci Wallace. At 11:30, Iago Fandiño's haiku workshop begins, and at 12 noon, Year 4 pupils will talk about their literary trip to Miño. This is followed at 13:00 by 'Nuevas voces canarias' with Marcos Dosantos, Antonio Martín Piñero and Sophia Hidalgo.
In the afternoon, the programme continues at 17:00 with "Poesía para todas las tallas". This is followed at 17:30 by a comic workshop with Fran Rodríguez Vié, at 18:00 by a talk with Ceci Wallace, and at 19:00 by a session with May R. Ayamonte and Pedro Martí. Sandra Santana will provide the musical finale to Saturday's programme at 20:00.
Sunday begins at 11:00 with the Biblioteca Viva Intercultural and stories from Siracusa Librero. At 11:30, there will be a children's workshop with Jennifer Alexandra based on her book "El nudo de Alexandra". At 12 noon, 'Escribir desde la periferia' with Ana Nayra Gorrín, Jesús Barranco, Iván Cabrera Cartaya and Montse Díaz is on the programme. At 13:00 there will be a talk with Alfredo Relaño, and the fair will close at 14:00.
