With this new route, Burka Teatro invites you on a theatrical walk through San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The story tells of a storm that destroys fields and crops and even sweeps away the Virgin of Candelaria. In the production, this event becomes the possible catalyst for the introduction of the cochineal, an invasive species that would go on to transform the landscape and people's everyday lives.
The meeting point is the Plaza del Convento de Las Claras in La Laguna. Performances take place on 19 October at 11.00 and 17.00, on 20 October at 11.00, on 21 October at 11.00 and 17.00, on 23 October at 11.00 and 17.00, on 24 October at 11.00 and 17.00, and on 25 October at 11.00.
The production combines performing arts with local heritage and tells its story directly within the urban environment. As such, the format is particularly aimed at visitors who wish not only to visit La Laguna, but also to experience it through a guided, theatrically narrated tour.
