'This Is Michael' is an international tribute show celebrating the legacy of Michael Jackson, featuring live music, dance and a spectacular stage production. Lenny Jay takes to the stage as the King of Pop, accompanied by musicians and dancers, with Jennifer Batten appearing as a special guest. The production is part of the Festival Mar Abierto's 20th-anniversary programme and will be staged in the Canary Islands on three dates. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the show will be performed in the open air on the Explanada del Palmetum. An expanded production featuring side screens and a large LED wall is planned for this evening.
The focus is on a journey through well-known tracks from Michael Jackson's repertoire, including 'Billie Jean', 'Thriller', 'Beat It' and 'Smooth Criminal'. The show combines these songs with choreography and a production style inspired by the aesthetics of his concerts. Lenny Jay takes on the lead role and is accompanied by a large ensemble of musicians and dancers.
Jennifer Batten, who played guitar on Michael Jackson's world tours for more than ten years, will be appearing as a guest. This gives the performance a direct link to the original shows. Tickets start at 49 euros.
