Under the theme 'Mujeres que cultivan Tegueste', the local council is marking International Day of Rural Women with a programme of cultural events and social gatherings. The programme is aimed at those interested in culture, cultural exchange and issues relating to women in rural areas. Registration is required for some events, either at the Teatro Príncipe Felipe or by telephone, as places are limited.
Tegueste Town Council is marking International Day of Rural Women with its own series of events entitled 'Mujeres que cultivan Tegueste'. The programme includes a variety of events, amongst them the play 'Valientes' by Burka Teatro, a women's movement circle entitled 'El camino del Sentir natural', the closing presentation 'Mujeres que cuentan, palabras que caminan', as well as other events focusing on crafts, exchange and the work of women in rural areas.
Also featured are 'Entrefibras', a workshop on contemporary basket weaving, and 'Mujeres que cultivan futuro', a tour of various farms and agricultural projects in Tegueste. The series thus combines stage performances, hands-on activities and insights into local life.
For activities requiring registration, bookings can be made at the Teatro Príncipe Felipe from Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 20:00, or by telephone on 922 31 61 36. Places are limited. Information on admission is available from the organiser.
