The town in the north of the Canary Islands is very proud of its swimming pool, which has not simply been renovated but has, in fact, been completely rebuilt. The „Centro Insular de Deportes Acuáticos“ was planned from the outset as the island’s aquatic sports centre.

In the foreground is the new 25-metre swimming pool with its starting blocks.

In the background is the 50-metre pool, which meets official competition standards.

Work on the swimming pool went on for several years. It’s now finished. And it’s got plenty to offer…

The grandstand can accommodate more than 500 spectators. This means that official competitions can indeed be held there – even under modern spectator conditions.

From Castillo San Felipe, you can even look out over the harbour from an old sentry box fitted with a sunshade.

The new complex offers state-of-the-art facilities and amenities, and not just for swimmers. The site also includes three training rooms, new changing rooms, a multi-purpose hall and a cafeteria (most of which are located beneath the stands).

And of course, there’s also a car park in front of the new swimming pool in Puerto de la Cruz. It’s situated between the swimming centre and the old cemetery.
