The exhibition forms part of the series 'Arqueología de las Plantas, una mirada al registro arqueológico invisible'. This includes three lectures by experts in archaeobotany from the University of La Laguna. They demonstrate how plant remains and barely visible traces can be used to shed light on past environmental conditions and everyday practices.
The focus is on the informative value of pollen, charcoal remains and phytoliths for reconstructing landscapes, as well as the indigenous population's use of wood and techniques for basket weaving and rope-making. The speakers are Dr Paloma Vidal Matutano, a lecturer; Dr María Herrero Otal, a postdoctoral researcher; and Dr Álvaro Castilla Beltrán, a research assistant, all from the University of La Laguna.
The opening begins at 19:00 at the Museo Arqueológico de Fuerteventura in Betancuria. Admission is free.
