The focus of the evening is the relationship between history and fiction in the work of Juan Gómez Bárcena. In conversation with festival director Carlos Battaglini, he will discuss his career, his research and writing, and the question of how literature can reinterpret the past and open up new ways of understanding the present.
Gómez Bárcena was born in Santander in 1984. His books include the novels “Kanada”, “Los que duermen”, “Ni siquiera los muertos” and “Lo demás es aire”. Among other awards, he has received the Ojo Crítico de Narrativa and the Premio Ciudad de Torrevieja. His books have been translated into several languages.
The event will take place at the Centro Cívico El Fondeadero, Calle Lanzarote 1, Puerto del Carmen. Admission is free. Registration via fdll.es is required to attend.
